Settings & Configuration
Your complete guide to configuring your PayXT dashboard, connecting your bank, and customizing your workflow.
Business Profile & Quick Actions
Business Profile
Enter your legal Business Name and Support Phone Number. This information appears on the checkout page so your clients know exactly who they are paying.
Top 4 Vendors / Payers
Save the contact information for your 4 most frequent clients. This allows you to auto-fill their details with a single tap, skipping manual entry.
Top Quick Services
Do you frequently charge the same amounts? Set up your Quick Services (e.g., "HVAC Diagnostic: $150"). Tap the service button on your dashboard, and PayXT will instantly populate the amount and memo field.
Connecting Your Bank
PayXT partners with Stripe to process payments securely. We never see or store your private banking details.
Setup Checklist: Have this ready
To comply with federal banking laws (KYC/AML), Stripe requires you to verify your identity before you can accept money. Have these details handy to finish setup in under 3 minutes:
- Business Info: Legal business name, address, and EIN (or your SSN if you are a Sole Proprietor).
- Personal Identity: Your full legal name, Date of Birth, and the last 4 digits of your SSN.
- Payout Details: The Routing Number and Account Number for the checking account where you want your money deposited.
- Security: A mobile phone to receive a text message for Two-Factor Authentication.
💳 Credit Card Processing: Good news! Once your identity is verified and your bank is connected, credit card processing and Apple/Google Pay are automatically activated by default. You do not need to configure them separately.
You can check your connection status by looking at the color of the bank button in your app's settings:
Not Connected
Tap "Connect your Bank" to open Stripe's secure onboarding portal and provide the information from the checklist above.
Verification Pending
Stripe's compliance team is reviewing your documents. Tap the Refresh icon next to the button to check if they have approved you.
Bank Connected
Success! Your bank is securely linked. You are fully authorized to send payment links and receive direct deposits.
Voice Dictation & Smart Assistants
1. The In-App Microphone
PayXT features a smart voice parser built right into the dashboard. Instead of typing out fields manually, simply tap the microphone icon and speak naturally. The app listens to your sentence and automatically extracts the Amount, the Recipient Name, and the Memo, placing them into the correct fields.
Example Sentence:
"Send 150 dollars to Sarah for the HVAC inspection."
The app will automatically put "$150" in the amount, look up "Sarah" in your contacts to grab her phone number, and set "HVAC inspection" as the service memo.
2. Siri & Google Assistant Integration
You can generate an invoice without even opening the app by using your phone's native smart assistant. PayXT registers special shortcut commands (intents) with your phone's operating system.
Apple (Siri)
"Hey Siri, send a PayXT invoice to John for 50 dollars."
Android (Google)
"Hey Google, create an invoice on PayXT."
Important: Google Assistant vs. Gemini AI
On newer Android phones, Google often defaults your voice assistant to Gemini AI. While Gemini is great for chatting, it currently struggles to trigger "deep app actions" like opening specific screens in third-party apps. If your voice commands are just giving you web search results, you need to switch your default phone assistant back to the classic Google Assistant in your Android Settings.
Security Limitation: The Final "Send" Tap
To protect users from rogue apps sending unauthorized text messages, Apple and Google do not allow apps to send SMS messages silently in the background. When you use Siri or Google Assistant to create an invoice, PayXT will generate the secure link and open your text message app automatically—but you must physically tap the "Send" button to dispatch the text to your client.
Taxes & Gateway Fees
Adjusting the Tax Rate
If you are required to collect sales tax, enter your local percentage (e.g., 9.5%).
Where to find this: Check your State's Department of Revenue website or search your local city's tax portal online. Tax rates often combine state, county, and city percentages.
Passing on Processing Fees
PayXT allows you to legally "gross-up" the invoice to cover credit card processing fees so you keep 100% of your money. The default standard is 2.9% + $0.30 per transaction.
Toggle the switch on your dashboard before sending a link to automatically apply this fee to the client's final bill.
Preferences & Security
Secure Link Limits (Expiration & Clicks)
Every payment link you generate is highly secure. To prevent bots or unauthorized access, all links automatically expire after 60 days. Furthermore, a link can only be clicked a maximum of 10 times. This click limit is high enough to allow B2B clients to forward the invoice to their Accounts Payable department, but low enough to stop automated abuse.
Itemized vs. Simple Receipts
Choose how the text message looks. Itemized sends a full breakdown showing the Base Price, Tax, and Fees. Simple hides the math and only sends the final total amount owed.
The Reset Button
Located on the main dashboard, this button instantly clears your current invoice draft, drops any selected quick services, and resets the form so you can start fresh for the next client.
The Nudge Button
Did a client forget to pay? The Nudge button instantly copies a polite, professional follow-up message along with the active payment link, ready for you to paste into an SMS.
